In 2004, Scensibles opened its doors on Main Street in historic downtown Essex. At that time the focus was primarily on sterling silver jewelry, candles and incense. As the years have passed, the boutique has evolved into an eclectic array of designer clothing, jewelry, shoes and accessories. Volupsa and Archipelago candles and fine body products are also featured in the store.

Currently there are more than a dozen local artisans who handcraft much of the uniquely displayed jewelry, and several nationally recognized clothing lines including Free People, Sweet Pea, Bask, Love Couture, Poetic License, and Wooden Ships. We’ve hosted many fashion and trunk shows, as well as participated in annual fashion events at the Griswold Inn.

Scensibles prides itself on offering a comfortable “hands on” shopping experience with warm friendly attention offered to customers of all ages. The perpetually changing merchandise continues to entice local customers who frequently return as well as tourists who visit year after year.
