While the-e-list has its perks, I TRY not to accept free stuff to maintain a shred of editorial integrity. My noble intentions were challenged last Tuesday, when my fab assistant, Emery, showed up with a giant beribboned box from the new Folly Baked Goods. Even April, my laser-focused bookkeeper, who refuses the stream of treats we nosh on throughout the day, succumbed to the tempting assortment: three miniature cakes: glazed deep chocolate, fluffy lemon and Linzer torte, plus a sweet heart-shaped container of assorted Valentine's cookies including jam-filled butter cookies, chocolate dipped cocoa hearts and an irresistible meringue studded with chocolate chips.
